Note: The Transvaal Horse was stationed at Leribe during the Basutoland Rebellion. The British High Commissioner, Sir Hercules Robinson, intervened in the dispute on 29 April 1881 , He upheld the validity of the Disarmament Ordinance of 1878. A complete amnesty was offered allowing the retention of the Basuto guns on payment of a £1 license fee per annum. The Basuto's still refused to give up their arms and there was no way of collecting the tax
