1939 (14 July) complete probate document bearing £50 Claret and Vermilion (20) with 1/- green and 6d. claret and green for a remarkable total franking of £1000/1/6, cancelled with neat "supreme court/ shanghai" undated c.d.s. in blue on reverse page, the interior pages detailing property and shares owned by the Deceased William Alfred Morling, with handstamps of the various companies and organisations in which he owned a stake. A fascinating piece of Shanghai's history, and a remarkably high franking. Photo.
