1858 (June) envelope from Ararat to London, marked "Registered" in red ink, bearing Woodblock 6d. and Octagonal 1/-, both clearly tied by fine Barred Numeral "93", showing manuscript "6" in red, handstruck "d6" and red Registered arrival d.s. (14.8) with, on reverse, small part despatch, Melbourne and arrival datestamps; the envelope a little soiled and with part of flap missing which has affected top of face panel. Note: The Registered 1/- stamp had been withdrawn on 5 January 1858, so that the Octagonal 1/- again became available to prepay registration. This in turn was short-lived as the remaining stock of imperforate stamps was perforated in early 1859.
