#27, 5c Brick red, Ty. I, unusually choice vertical strip of three with bright color, nicely centered with full perforations that are not scissors separated as is normally found, tied to neat 1859 cover to Bordeaux, France by "New Orleans La./Apr. 30, 1859" c.d.s. pmks. additionally tied by red "New York/Paid 3/May 7" foreign exchange c.d.s. and ultramarine octagonal French entry handstamp, numerous transits and backstamped on reverse, barely apparent repaired tear to cover at bottom into "Bordeaux" of the address, otherwise very fine and exceptionally attractive; the 5c Brick red is very scarce in such a multiple on cover; 2010 PF certificate.
