W. R. Waite was in the forward reconnaissance Platoon of 'D' Company, when he was wounded by shrapnel from a mortar that was fired from below their position on Pt. 210. He was evacuated back to the 60th Indian (Parachute) Field Ambulance; sold together with casualty lists and a war diary extract.
